I am in the process of stripping all my kitchen cabinets. I am new to doing this and have made some mistakes. I have stripped and restained my cabinets above the exhaust hood, but have not clear coated it. It has been this way for about a month. I am worried about there being a slight greasy film on the unprotected wood and I want to clean it before I try to clear coat it. What can I use to do this? I am not sure what type of wood my cabinets are...they are made of a softer wood...maybe Pine? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Mrs.D, I don't have an answer for you, but when I was searching for an answer to my cabinet question, I ran across a site full of helpful info. If you would like, you can go to this site and ask for help:www.citristrip.com
Another site I found useful is: wick's www.com
Good luck.
