I bought a scratch and dent front load HE3T by kenmore. When the spin cycle starts it makes a very loud banging noise and I can visual see the side of the washer pulsating out as the drum pounds against the sides. I took the back cover off and inside I noticed that on the bottom of the washer in the two back corners there are two silver shafts sticking up, and hanging from the drum are two black tubes that look to me like they should fit over the shafts. In my washer they aren't that way. Do I need to get those black tubes to fit over the shafts to prevent the drum from bouncing around? IF not, what else might be the problem?

You should have 2 supports on top and 2 shock absorbers on the bottom. It sounds as if that is what you are describing. You can find a diagram at
