Does anyone own one of Kenmore's "Trio" style refrigerators - the ones with the side-by-side fridge doors above a pull-out bottom freezer? ***** seems to have this style all to itself, and I'm wondering if this is a real improvement in convenience and function or a gimmick. I like the layout, but am choking a bit on the price. On the other hand, Consumers Reports show that this fridge has more useable inside space (compared to the stated capacity) than anything else out there.
Putting style aside, is this a good fridge (good quality, good performance)?

Whirlpool used to make a 'french door' refrigerator model, they don't any more. Maybe that says something?

You should be able to tell its efficiency from comparison of its energy label to other refrigerators.

Well it was made by Maytag (if that says anything) and early models have already been recalled once (see the following link). I'm sure currently available models aren't affected.

Maytag has a similar model, as does Jennair (made by Maytag; in fact I think they are ALL made by Maytag). The Maytag doesn't seem to have a cabinet depth variant yet. The jennair cabinet depth doesn't have a tilt-out freezer drawer like the kenmore.

We got the 3 door SS Maytag version in today at our store....nice looking refrigerator!!
According to the sales dept they will have 1 Maytag and 1 Jenn-Air version on display.
The refrigerator part is set up nice, but I still don't like that pull out drawer freezer door!!

I just seen an LG Electronics model last weekend which is a similar design. I doubt it's made by Maytag... but you never know. The LG model looked pretty nice.
