My house is pier and beam. I have a living area (used to be a single car garage) that is on a slab. I want to take part of that room in and make a good size utility room that houses my w/d, hot water heater and a/c plus a built in 5 level laundry hamper to have the clothes already sorted for wash, small storage room, clothes bar and cabinet to fold the clothes on. I want the utility room to be pier and beam like the rest of the house and to have a door that slides in to the wall to access the new room. Professionals will come in to relocate and reduct the a/c and electricity for the w/d & hot water heater (electric). It is up to me to contruct the new room and floor first before any other work can be done. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have to better my project.

A number of the newer washers and dryers can be stacked -- assuming the washer is front-loading. Elfa shelving and drawer systems are very good for the laundry storage baskets. Good luck.
