We own a maytag gas dryer that has been acting up. When you push the start button sometimes it will start other times it will just hum like it is trying to start and then it starts to smell like something is burning. Sometimes after that it won't hum at all when the button is pushed. Any ideas?

There should be 4 numbers between the letters.

If the serial# is correct, it was manufactured 04/99.

Like Outlaw mentioned, that definetly sounds like a motor going sour.
