We have a GE gas stove that is approximately 8-10 years old. Recently the oven quit working. I can't get the pilot light to light either...but here's the weird thing...the stove top works. Does anyone have any ideas as to how this is, and how to fix it. Do I need to just call a fix-it-man?

Thanks,

Anna

Does it actually have a "pilot light"?

You can read about the common types of gas oven ignition systems at the following link:

BTW. For any specific questions about your appliance we'll need its model number to enable us to see how it was built. You can find tips for locating the model number tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my site linked below.
