If the opener works normally when operated by other openers and/or switches, then it probably means that your pushbutton on the transmitter in the car is sticking - or that transmitter is failing to stop "sending" in some other way.

If this problem occurs with all transmitters and switches, then I suggest you try adjusting the stops on the main unit.
