After many years of dependable service from Maytag appliances, two years ago we bought the Atlantis washer and dryer - junk!

We bought Atlantis units because they were advertised as quiet. They are so noisy it is impossible to sleep while they operate. Maytag offered no solution.

After one year, the motor in the washer burned out. The repairman told us that the machine is not capable of doing one load after another, needs a rest. Also, he said that only the normal cycle should be used. The others put too much stress on the motor.

Hi,

**We bought Atlantis units because they were advertised as quiet. They are so noisy it is impossible to sleep while they operate.**

While I agree about some of the noise levels with many/most of the newer top load washers today....I hope your not running the units while everybody is asleep!?!?

**After one year, the motor in the washer burned out. The repairman told us that the machine is not capable of doing one load after another, needs a rest.**

I/we find this normally isn't the case.

**Also, he said that only the normal cycle should be used. The others put too much stress on the motor.**

Hmmmmmm, another strange statement!!

JMO!!

Sir,

My experience is "ditto".

You are right on. Check the internet. Maytag is making few fans of late. They have also outraged the community in which they worked for so many years (Iowa) by moving many ops to Mexico and failing to pay their (lowered to keep them in the USA) taxes. "WE" both should have done our homework. Whar do they say "Caveat Emptori"

??? My spelling is poor. But I can specll JUNK. I spell it "M-A-Y-T-A-G".
