I recently tried to clean my dishwasher. Being the all powerful and knowledgable handyman, I thought that I should pull out the float and clean it. After tugging on it, it came out. And, well, wouldn't you know it, I cant get it back in. Well I can get it in, but it is now much easier to take out. My question is whether or not the float should be secure in its hole, i.e. should the float be difficult to take out or just slip in. I have ordered a new one, and I will hopefully install it myself, but I am still unsure of how snug it should be.
Thanks.

I'm afraid that is no help in identifying the appliance you have. What is needed is its complete model number *as printed on the appliance's model and serial number tag*.
Most of the dishwasher floats I've seen were fairly easily removable. Yours may have had some kind of retainer on it holding it in??

I'm not familiar with that exact model but the replacement float does come with a 'speed nut' on it so that may have pulled off?
** the part number is 3379889 Rev. A **
The part number of what?
The part number of the float and nut asm. should be 3376397

quite honestly, all i did was order a new part, and then i installed it. Before turning the machine on i crossed my fingers and the darn thing has been working ever since without a hitch.
