Be aware that Maytag has:

Sent 1 or 2 Divisions to Mexixo (NAFTA).

Is producing and selling a washer (Neptune) which has caused a class action law suit - see my earlier post...also search web for maytag+lawsuit.

Sold me a "Performa" washing machine which "performed for 25 months. Look for the Non-Performing Performa to be at the center of a class action law suit in the near future.

Has a "Customer Solutions Department" which is either simply rude or so shell shocked that their jobs are being sent to Mexico that they no longer care. They certainly did not help me.

BUYER BEWARE!

The "Rears and Sobucks" Repairman said "Whirlpool" is the only good machine being made right now

How many times are you going to post this? I do not believe Bob Vila or bobvila.com has anything to do with Maytag. Even if their site is sponsored in part by S ears and that is where you purchased it, it still doesn't have anything to do with this site.

I would suggest you make your complaints know to the people that can do something about them (namely, *not* Bob Vila). JMO

You can find some good advice about making complaints at the following links. Good luck.

Dan,

1. The Subject read "if you buy Maytag" - this post was intended for people intending to buy Maytag.

2. These first 2 posts were my intial use of the system (bb).

3. Now that I am more familiar with "how people are reading these posts" I will probably have only to add info (posts)as the new info becomes known to me.

4. You are entitled to believe what you want. And so are other people. After reading my posts some potential purchasers of Maytag equipment (and especially the

Non-Performa washer) may not agree with you.

And I believe that to be the purpose of the Internet and this bb.

5. At my expense I have made my complaints known to both S ears and Maytag as well as others. If this site has nothing to do with getting shafted by uncaring manufactures please tell me so in your reply. Also tell me please what "JMO" means. Also tell me who you are. I understand you are Dan O - however - I would like to understand why "you, in particular" are admonishing me.

6. I can accept criticism Dan. I hope I have explained that my newness to this bb caused me to say "what appeared to be" the same thing twice. I'd like to know if we both agree that experiences such as mine are a good use of this bb.

7. Understand this, please. I made these "5" Maytag purchases (washer-dryer-referator-stove and vent) because of a 40 year association with S ears and a 20 year appreciation of Mr. Vila and his programming. That is what they had to do with this. And I believe that many other once felt as I did. Specifically, that the names S ears and Vila ment "Satisfaction Guarenteed". I believe this is how they both advertise.

8. I have done everything humanly possible to rectify this (including spending $145. for 2 service men only conclude that I bought junk) and now accept that S ears and Maytag cannot - or will not - make this right.

9. I believe that customers such have a right to know this - BEFORE they purchase. Please post your answers.

10. Finally, I plan to post as new info becomes available.

Sincerely,

John P. McKenzie

Again, thank you for the useful info.

** After reading my posts some potential purchasers of Maytag equipment (and especially the Non-Performa washer) may not agree with you. **

May not agree with me about what? I haven't stated an opinion one way or the other about Maytag's products just about the multiple forum posts regarding your dissatisfaction with ONE of FOUR Maytag products you purchased which apparently failed to function over a year *after* the warranty had expired.

** The Subject read "if you buy Maytag" **

But the content was basically the same as both your other posts. ie. duplicated (although reworded).

** If this site has nothing to do with getting shafted by uncaring manufactures please tell me so in your reply. **

It is my opinion that there are better sites for that than this one. There are quite a few devoted just to complaints about products, services and manufacturers. There are some that offer consumer reviews of products and which might be the best place to warn potential buyers of your dissatisfaction... if that's your intent.

** I would like to understand why "you, in particular" are admonishing me **

Partly because no one else has.

I frequent these forums and try to assist people looking or answers or help with their appliances. If you're wanting help in solving a problem, state it and I'm sure someone will try to help as much as we can.

But we can't really help you to deal with some other company though, which is what it sounds like you're looking for? Getting your washer fixed by Maytag or S ears or Bob himself.

JMO

** Also tell me please what "JMO" means. **

JMO is an Internet abbreviation for 'Just My Opinion' meaning others may very well disagree with it.

Dan.

There is no arguement here. If you have a right to tell people what to post and what to duplicate, okay. If not, without regard to what you frequent, when you read something which does not apply to you DO NOT feel obligated to correct, instruct or interfere. The positive info which you offered I thank you for in no small way.

To ask me how many times I plan to post something ... I believe you went to far. And to judge whether I have receive fair value or treatment for my money is not within your jurisdiction even if you were a monitor of this site. I have posted the truth. That is my obligation. Your obligation, UNLESS YOU RESPRESENT THIS SITE, is no more than to read the information and to decide whether is is informative TO YOU PERSONALLY or not.

You have a right to disregard anything you want. But you have no right to tell me what, when or how frequently I may post - that is, unless you are a monitor. And even then if my language is uninsulting and I am posting the truth you would not be monitoring you would be censoring. I would have much rather sent you an individual e, but I do not have you address. Mine is "johnmckenzie@att.net". No more discussion on the bb, please. Write me if "myob" needs clarification.

Are forum visitors not allowed to comment on what or how you post?

BTW. What exactly was the problem which caused your washer to become 'not worth repairing'? Were either of the technicians able to determine the cause of the particular failure?
