Can I vent 2 gas appliances through the same roof vent? I have a gas water heater with a straight vent going approximately 12 feet up through the roof, located in my garage, and I want to add a ceiling mounted Modine Hanging Heater, with a gravity vented propeller.

Can I cut splice a tee into the water heater vent and use the same roof vent for both ??

If so will a 4" vent be enough for both units??

Rebecca :)

Not usually. Having both appliances on the same vent can force exhaust from one into the other rather than out the top of the vent creating hazardous conditions.

Check local building codes before attempting anything like that!
