I have an old Gibson freezer/refrig. I don't really know the age of it. I just have it in the garage to store misc. stuff and beverages. Anyway, the freezer part seems to have quit working. I have it on the highest setting, but the temp. is about the same as the fridge. Any ideas for repair? Or it may just be that I can no longer use the freezer part of this.

Hi,

**I have an old Gibson freezer/refrig. I don't really know the age of it. I just have it in the garage**

How warm is the garage? Was the refrigerator always in the garage? Is it running?

Often on a frost free style refrigerator the colder the room ( garage ) gets ( esp the closer to 40ºF ) the less the refrigerator will run and the freezer can thaw out.

Thanks. Maybe that is it. It just recently started not working, and the fridge is in an unheated Michigan garage. I never thought about that possibility.

Howdy,

May not be easy, but heating that area or bringing the refrigerator in to where it is warm will at least test the refrigerator to make sure it is ok.
