We have a Atlantis washer and dryer,. we have had for three years. Just this month the washer makes a loud squealing sound when it stops,

I think it has something to do with the break.

Is there anyway to queit the noise down without taking the washer assembly apart, getting to the brake? Just looking I do not think it will take common tools to get the drum off the shaft

Hi,

**Just this month the washer makes a loud squealing sound when it stops**

Brake issues.

**I think it has something to do with the break**

When the noise is at the spot where the tubs stops spinning, yes it is usually in the brake area.

**Is there anyway to queit the noise down without taking the washer assembly apart**

Not normally.

**Just looking I do not think it will take common tools to get the drum off the shaft**

There is a special brake tool to prevent the 200lb spring inside the brake assembly from hurting you!

Some info on this subject....
