Hi everyone,
I have a Kenmore electric range model: 911.46755
The clock/oven control/display does not work. It's completely blank. I've killed power to it and on powerup, nothing shows up. No error messages, nothing.
The top ranges all work, and the interior oven light works. Without the front panel, I can't bake anything.
I've called several local appliance repair places and the soonest any of them can come out is next week sometime :( Any idea what's wrong? and would this be something I can repair on my own, assuming I can get parts for it? Thanks.

That looks to be only part of a model number, did you get it right off the appliance's model and serial number tag? That is the only reliable place it will be found.
I did find a listing for a model # 911.46755590
On the above range model I don't see anything which would stop the electronic control from functioning except it being defective. Basically, if power is getting to it, it should either light up or is defective and would likely need to be replaced. :(
You can see the replacement electronic control for the 911.46755590 range model at the following link:

Thanks. I had forgotten the last two digits, which are 90, as you had presumed.
This is a stretch, but is there a schematic for this unit online somewhere that will show me how to get to the front panel? I looked around the front and was not able to see an easy way to open it. I hope I don't have to take the whole thing apart from the rear of the unit... As always, thanks for any help.

DanO: the link you provided doesn't seem to work :(
How would I search for this model on the Appliance411's website?

There are exploded parts views available for Kenmore appliances at the S-ears web site at the following link. I don't know how much they'll help you to get *into* your appliance, that's not their purpose. The only thing with would be specific to *servicing* the appliance would be the "service manual" which would NOT be available on-line (if one was available for your model at all).

Both links work for me today, maybe one or the other site was down temporarily? Try again.

Such a service is not available at my Appliance411 web site although there are links to the S-ears web site along with links to some other on-line part suppliers which offer a similar service for many of the other appliance brands, in the Appliance411 'Repair Parts' section.
Only S-ears has exploded view parts diagrams for Kenmore products AFAIK since Kenmore is their exclusive brand. Replacement parts however, may be available elsewhere if needed... once you look up the needed part number(s).
JFYI

Just wanted to wrap this up :)
I figured out how to take the range apart and get to the ERC. I was able to find a local source for the ERC and have replaced it. All is well and working now.
Before I went ahead and fixed it myself, I had a local appliance repair tech come out, just to confirm the failure and so I could get a price quote for the repair. Based on the quote, by doing this myself, I figured I saved about $200.
Thanks for all the help, DanO.

I have a kenmore gas range with a similar problem - no display, yet gas burners and oven light are still working.
Could anyone explain what exactly was the fix for this problem? Replace the ERC? What is the ERC? Where could I obtain this part?

In their case, yes.
** What is the ERC? **
ERC = Electronic Range Control. Ie. the clock/control computer.
** Where could I obtain this part? **
Either from S ears of another parts supplier which carries parts for the manufacturer which made the product for S ears.
S ears doesn't make anything them self, you can read about whom makes which Kenmore model at the following link:
