I have a few more questions for the pros. As you may have read I have a #110.28802890 Kenmore washer. I didn't know the neutral drain assembly could be repaired so I purchased and installed the complete gearcase. I took apart the old gearcase and would like to know how to remove the neutral drain assembly. It seems to be held in place by a stud. Does this unscrew or is it pressed in? Also, I can't figure out what is broken on it. All the parts are there. Does it fail due to wear? Maybe it wasn't broken at all.

Sorry but I've never worked on one myself. Our company never found it cost effective to rebuild them ourselves.

BTW. The 'neutral drain kit' does appear to come with instructions. Whirlpool is often pretty good that way with any repair 'kits' they make available.
