We just moved into our first house, and the washer and dryer was left. We also have a washer and dryer that we "inherited" from my parents. I'm trying to determine which set to keep and needed to know the age of the pair that was left.

From the information I have available, the washer looks to have been manufactured the 28th week of 1996 and the dryer (whose full model should be 110.66512690) manufactured the 23rd week of 1996.
BTW. The age of an appliance does not necessarily have any relation to their possible longevity although many newer models don't seem to hold up for as long as older models did.

Rather than age, you should try to determine how many loads of laundry and how heavy for each appliance. If your folks only washed a few light loads per week and you washed a few per day of diapers, rugs etc. it might be better to keep your folks machine. I once found an ancient, dusty, avacado-green, Kenmore by the curb. On inspection, it appeared to have been stored ever since throwing a rivet on the wig-wag soon after purchase. It was nearly brand new and once repaired ran as such. If they are both Kenmore, you may want to keep all of them for parts if you're handy.
