Kenmore Elite Dryer Model # 11072082101 shutdown after 10 mins. or so in Auto Temp Control Mode and displaying E1 error code. But runs Ok when not in Auto Temp Control Mode.E1 error code according to tech sheet means possibly open thermistor if thermistor is bad shouldn't my dryer run at all. Is that mean my Electronic Control board is going bad? Any suggestion is highly appreciated Thanks.

Thermistor control for dryer, this is on the fan blower housing.

I found this....

E1 or E2 Thermistor Failure The dryer will not operate if the exhaust temperature drops below 18 degrees F. or exceeds 250 degrees F.

When the thermistor circuit is open (>50K ohms), the error code E1 flashes in the display.

When the thermistor circuit is shorted (

Normal thermistor resistance values:

60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms.

70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms.

80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms.

Hope not!

Hi appliguy. Regarding the lost posting, I've had that happen too. I think it's when HTML formatting is detected (or if it APPEARS to be HTML).

For example: parens, carats and brackets in particular sequences. I use them with caution on this BBS.
