I am renting a home which has a Kenmore Dishwasher Model # 587 1541590. It has bad calcium deposits etc. I am able to clean them...but I cannot seem to figure out how to remove the door. If I could get the door removed, I can clean the inside much better. I have no manual, nor can I seem to locate info regarding it. Any suggestions? Please help. Thanks!

Hi,

How do you mean "remove the door"? The entire door off of the d/w? Just remove the outer panal to access between the inner and outer door panals?

The door normally has screws around the edge to seperate the outer panal fro mthe inner panal.

This might help....

You see what I want is to be able to get further inside the dishwasher to clean it. I dont want to lean on the door...or contort myself lol. I was simply hoping I could remove it to get back there better...thats all. I have alot of calcium deposits...its a mess. I see where you can remove the panel..but that wont really help me. Hmm...maybe I wasnt very clear? Thanks for a nice quick reply though. :-)

Run a cycle or two with just tang or white viegar.

They are mild acids that will remove the buildups.

G'day,

Crystal tang works good as Bill mentioned.

This might help as well....

**I was simply hoping I could remove it to get back there better...thats all.**

There is no easy way to remove the entire door....wires run in there to the consol, door hinges, door springs can be removed but -may- be more work than we want!
