The round plastic gasket does not close after ice cubes are dispensed from the ice maker. Due to the flap not closing, there is an ice buildup around the chute inside the freezer where the ice cubes are dispensed. Can this flap be sprayed with a lubricant or can an adjustment be made to ensure the flap seats properly? Thanks

- GE refrigerator ice maker flap not closing
Hi,
**GE refrigerator**
Model#?

Some model# helps.
**Can this flap be sprayed with a lubricant**
If needed yes...but the lubricant MUST be a food grade lube.
**or can an adjustment be made to ensure the flap seats properly?**
More likely something in the linkage may be broken or the solenoid is rusted preventing the small flapper door from closing properly. This would have to be investigated.
