I have a 5ftX7ft area to go 116" high. I am on a tight budget and really can't afford the spiral stairs. Is there anywhere I can find plans to build some kind of stair system that will work?

by code you cant have any rise above 8
inches and no less than 9 inces on your could cut stringers out of 2by 12's but they would be very steep and hardly any foot space.makeing travel difficult

Buddy2, You need 15 risers and 14 treads, you also need 6'8" of headroom in a stairwell and a min width of 36" for a main stairway

You can't even fit in a set of winders in the space you have, where the min inside is 6". check local code some areas allow 4",

You need 6'x8' min for a switchback, 7'x7'for a winder.
I think you need to find some space.
