Hi, the oven is a Kenmore, about 3 yrs old. Recently, have noticed that when it is "off" (burners included), the oven turns on, for about 13 seconds. I would say it probably turns on every 2 hours..

- Oven turns "on"
Hi,
**the oven is a Kenmore, about 3 yrs old**
Model#? Gas, electric? Range or build in oven?
http://www.applianceaid.com/model.html Some model# helps.

What turns on? Ignitor, electric element, pilot light, control display? Goes back off on it's own?

Thanks, Jeff it's a Model 362.72220
Gas, Range. The oven ignites. All burner knobs, and oven knob are in the "off" position. I can hear it come on, and I check by opening the broiler door, and see the flames. This lasts about 13 seconds and it goes "off" by itself. The flames are no longer coming out. It occurs randomly, say every two hours.

Double check the wires to and from the hot surface ignitor/glow coil in the oven, if one is shorted to the cabinet/ground the ignitor can glow on it's own and come on. Failing that, likely a bad oven control closing it's contacts in the off position and turning the hot surface ignitor on when it shouldn't be on.
