I own a stackable Kenmore washer/dryer. The dryer works fine but while it's going it makes a loud vibrating noise. I have looked and nothing seems loose, but I am not really sure what I am loking for. Also, because it is a stackable inside a closet on carpet it is very heavy to move and look behind. If you press against the side of the dryer the noise stops. Any ideas what this could be?

** I own a stackable Kenmore washer/dryer. **

Sears has marketed lots of different versions of those over the years. If you post the machine's exact *model number*, we can look up to see which design you're dealing with.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances at the following link:

That could be caused by worn drum rollers or drum slides (whichever your model uses) or maybe worn or stiff drum seals? It's hard to guess without knowing the design of machine involved.

The model number for the stackable washer/dryer is 417.94702300. The dryer is not that old, but it was here in the condo when we moved in.

** stackable washer/dryer [model number] is 417.94702300 **

That is a "laundry center" (ie. *permanently* stacked washer/dryer) made by Frigidaire for Sears.

On that dryer design, if the front, upper drum support felt seal was worn, the drum might might not slide on it properly, resulting in vibration.

That dryer design can also experience wear of the rear drum bearing and/or drum shaft although that more often results in a squealing sound than vibration. Lastly, you could check the drum belt for unevenness.

Another possible cause of vibration is lint buildup on the blower wheel.

** lint buildup on the blower wheel **

Good thought or possibly even the blower being worn and slipping on the motor shaft although that is not as common on Frigidaire dryers as it is on other makes.
