Whirlpool DU850SWLBO ~ 2 years old
Bought a built-in dishwasher with intention of building a cabinet around it. It is located right next to my kitchen in my utility room next to the tub - closest water line.
About a month ago, the city had water main problems that I didn't know of and I did a load of laundry. Washer drains into wash tub - which in this case DID NOT drain, but overflowed. I heard it and ran in and stopped the washer. There really wasn't that much water on the floor as I got to it quickly. BUT ever since then, my dishwasher will not work.
I'm not much of an electrical person, but is there something under there that may have been damaged by the water? Or an emergency shut off thingamabob? Or any ideas would be helpful at this point in time.

Has anyone confirmed power is getting to the dishwasher?

You mean besides the motor and much of the appliance's wiring, including its main power connection?
If the dishwasher will not work AT ALL (no lights, no fill, no motor, etc.), I can only think that there's a problem in the main power supply, the main electronic control or a very slim chance one of the door switches.
The only thing that would likely be affected by a flood would be the main power supply shorting out and tripping a house breaker or it shorting out the electronic control. The latter is doubtful IMO but probably not impossible.

You mean besides the motor and much of the appliance's wiring, including its main power connection?

There is definately current going to it. I plugged the washing machine in where I had the dishwasher and the washing machine worked. I even got an extention cord and plugged the dishwasher in, in another room.
When I turn the dishwasher on, nothing at all happens. It doesn't try to fill with water, the motor doesn't start, nothing...it's like it isn't plugged in at all.
I haven't looked underneath yet, because I was hoping that whatever is was, was just something wet and needed to dry out....but it should be dry by now...so I guess I'm going to have to take a look.

That rules out the most likely cause.

That's likely the only way the cause is going to be found if it isn't a problem in the main power supply to the appliance.
