I'm getting ready to paint the outside of my white refrigerator with black epoxy paint, but i'm not sure what to do with the inside. Do I have to leave the inside alone? Can I use the same Epoxy paint? Or is there a different type of paint that I can use to get it to match? If you know, please help me. I want it to look nice. We are moving into a new home and I would like it to blend in and look new, not stand out like a sore thumb. Thanks. jlpre

- How do I paint the inside of my refrigerator
** Do I have to leave the inside alone? **
I would strongly suggest you do NOT attempt to paint it inside!
** Can I use the same Epoxy paint? **
Whatever you used *inside* a refrigerator would have to be 'food grade' and non-toxic, being in such close proximity to food stuffs. I don't know of any paints that fit that description (and would last long on the interior surfaces and at the temperatures found there).

The interior of a refrigerator should not contrast with most room decors since it isn't even seen unless the doors are open. I suggest you leave well enough alone and just paint the exterior if you really want it changed.

Thank you, that is what i thought. The part that concerns me the most however is the rubber seal. I'm sure I can't paint it, but yet If I leave it white it won't match the fridge. Also, what type of paint would I use to paint the plastic handles on the exterior of my fridge. thanks, jlpre1

Most likely not.

Many black (or other colour) refrigerators have (or used to have - not too long ago - only) white door seals. Only fairly recently have refrigerators gone to different coloured door seals.
If you wanted some other colour, you'd have to see if another colour were available for your model fridge and replace them. I wouldn't hold your breath though. There are a couple of universal gaskets 'kits' available but only in grey or brown AFAIK.

Maybe plastic paint?? I don't know, ask at a paint supplier if they have anything appropriate. Or you could look up to see if any other colour handles where available for your model fridge and just replace them?

I know this is an old post, and unless your like me and put off projects until the wife hits 125db's. She had this same idea, paint it inside and out, and called an auto body shop. Seems they get this request about daily, and painted it with the stuff they paint UPS trucks with. Very much not a do it yourself grade stuff. It wasn't very expensive at all, and we have a "wet look" black refrig, with a stark white interior. Wire shelves look more like they were dipped and baked, and 2 years later not a single spot or blemish. The interior and exterior paints were all food grade to.
