Model # 110.22712100

Serial # CL255006

Type 111

The washing machine is making a strange noise. Will not agitate or spin either. Will fill up with water.

Any ideas what is could be or where to look to determine the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Than the motor coupler may be broken. You can see the replacement for your model at the following link and read instructions for installing it at the second.

Dear Dan,

After following the directions and wanting to replace the coupler, upon inspection, the motor coupler is brand new and not broken.

I think that there is something wrapped around the middle post in the washing machine itself. Any way to loosen that out and check if anything is caught on it? Do you have any directions on how to unscrew that middle piece inside the washer?

Thank you again in advance for your time and expertise. The previous links were excellent.

They can just crack right at the center allowing them slip on the motor shaft. They do not always break right apart.

I don't see how it would affect both agitate and spin.

The agitator? You might get an idea from the following link. It may not be exactly the same as the one used on your model though.

Dan,

Good Call! Upon rechecking the motor coupler, it was cracked in the middle. Never checked other white piece completely. Going now to replace. Will let you know the outcome.

I washed a load of clothes today and when I went to take them out, they were soaked. I checked and it wasn't spinning...at all. I was sick thinking about having to pay a repair person ($160-170) or buying a new one. I searched through several websites and ended up on this one. I read the posts about the motor coupler and with your help, it cost me less than $18 to fix my washer today. It turned out to be a very productive and cheap day off...thanks to you!
