My dryer is not getting my clothes
all the way dry. I have to run them 2-3 cycles before they get dry. What i dont
understand is that the dryer itself is hot
and putting out a lot of heat, but the
clothes are taking forever to dry. We just
moved into a new house so I am wondering if
it is the dryer duct not being hooked up
properly or could it be the dryer element coil that is going out? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks a lot!

I have to agree it could be the washer is in removing excess water, I would try to do a spin cycle two times and see if the drying is better. If it is not try this it is like a generic fix http://www.applianceaid.com/ge-dryers.html if not go to www.applianceaid.com you will need the model number and there should be recommendations for fixes.
I am not sure if that is the case. The clothes dont seem to be any heavier than normal. Do you thing the Dryer vent that leads to outside could be clogged? I unplugged the duct from the back of the dryer and turned the dryer on and it blows out warm damp air.

If the dryer *cabinet* is getting hot, yes, plugged venting could be a possibility as well as it just being poorly installed (see the following link).

I thing it must be clogged. I successfully completed 5 loads of laundry yesterday after unplugging the vent tubing from the wall. It was obviously a little messy...and had a fun time with clean up. But at least now I know it is not the dryer. Thanks to all of you for your insight. Any ideas on how I should go about getting it unclogged?
