The washer is only 3 yrs old. It wont spin, and agitates very slowly and the motor is making a weir humming noise like its trying to work. I started seeing the grease coming from underneath a long time ago but thought maybe someone knocked something over behind the had a greenish tinge to it. Now I see its oil or grease. Any ideas before the repair guy comes to check it out ($65) just for a diagnosis! OUCH!

The only place any significant amount of oil can come from is out of the transmission itself. Being only 3-years old, the transmission may be coved by a 5-year part warranty. Check with Sears.
