I have a gas dryer that I need to install. There is a gas dryer in the basement but I want one upstairs however there is no pipe coming from the basement to that dryer. Could I disconnect the pipe from the gas dryer in the basement and reroute the pipe to the one upstairs through the floor?

Hi,

**Could I disconnect the pipe from the gas dryer in the basement and reroute the pipe to the one upstairs through the floor?**

Normally yes....but a gas fitter would normally calculate the extra length of pipe/tubing and fittings required to make sure the size of the line is ok to lengthen it upstairs. No flex connector can pass through a wall or floor.

Gas dryers MUST vent outside!

Room upstairs must also allow the correct amount air for combustion and exhaust.
