My whirlpool washer works through all the cycles most of the times but lately when it get to the first rinse cyle it fills with water and from there wont agitate. then it will spin and empty. This happens about 75% of the time. My model # is lsq9544kqo

Can you hear the motor running at the time it should be agitating but not??

If the motor is NOT running at that time, I can't think of anything besides a problem in the timer which might cause that function to fail only at that point but it work otherwise.

No the motor is not running but you can hear a noise from the timer as it is advancing.
