I believe my ice maker is leaking slightly. There are frozen ice trails leading from it, and down side of freezer. Its not leaking bad enough to leak out of bottom of freezer door yet.

Its is Maytag model MSD2756DEW (side by side) and I cant figure out how to get the ice bin out. It says to pull down on front underneath bin, but I haven't been able to dislodge it. Does this bin come out, or do I have to "uninstall" the ice maker to check for leaks?

Welcome ideas on what to do and look for.

Thanks!

Hi,

**I cant figure out how to get the ice bin out. It says to pull down on front underneath bin, but I haven't been able to dislodge it**

Might be frozen in place, a defrosting may be in order.

Pull down on the center middle front of the bin to release it and pull forward.

**Does this bin come out**

Yes.

**or do I have to "uninstall" the ice maker to check for leaks?**

Possible as well.

Fill tube out of place, icemaker over filling...

Thanks!

Sure enough, the bin was frozen in place. I defrosted and pulled the bin and the fill tube had about 3 inches of solid ice. I saw the leak coming from the fill tube area.

I suppose no water should buildup in fill tube, or it will freeze as in my case. According to your link, I can either adjust the fill adjustment screw, or if that doesn't work, I need a new module head.

Sounds about right?

Thanks again.

Correct.

Confirm the fill valve is not weeping in some water all of the time. Confirm good water pressure to the refrigerator and icemaker as low water pressure can cause the fill spout to freeze up. If all passes ok, then diffinetly try the module assy.
