I have a Frigidaire convection oven (approx 5 yrs old) which is not heating. The burners are working, as are the warming tray at the bottom, the convection fan and interior light. I checked both the broiler and bake coils and neither will heat. When you turn on the oven you hear it click, but no heat is produced. My brother opened up the back and along with the schematics did a bunch of tests with his voltage meter which all seemed to be ok. He suggested it may be the relay, thermostat or other switch. Is there a way to determine which one of these is the causing the problem?

It depends on how whatever model you have was designed and what components it uses. The only way we can check that is if you post its complete model number.

I'm not sure exactly what he tested, but he had the back panel off and said that all the wires seemed to be giving the correct voltage. Through process of elimination he determined that its the electronic oven control, which I've been quoted about $275Cdn to replace. The oven did not given an error code and the clock/display work fine.
Does it make sense that this part would cause the oven not to work like this?
Its a Frigidaire model CPLEF398ACA.

I don't know about "like this" but it could very well be responsible for the oven elements not working. It is the only thing they connect to besides the range's main power supply as far as I can tell.

The one used on that model IS expensive, about $200 US.

They don't always, only when a failure occurs they they are able to or are designed to, detect. If there's a problem in the control itself, it (and anything it indicated) would be suspect anyway.

That has no direct bearing of the rest of its functions other than to indicate a lack of power *to it* is not the cause.
Your brother could very well be right but before *I* would spend $200+ on a part, I might want to get a professional opinion. But that will be up to you.
