tappan oven door is not lining up with the latch. the mod # is TGF657BFW. the latch does not appear to be bent at all. The hinges where the door connects that steps up to raise the door and has a block at the end that prevents the door from opening too far appears to have dropped. The step up does not raise the door high enough to line up with the latch. and the stopper at the end is slightly low so it does not prevent the door from over extending. Its as if the whole door dropped. I see there are springs could it be this?

the hinge part is 7/7a on this diagram http://www.partselect.com/MultiModel...Mfg=Frigidaire

** Tappan [range] mod # TGF657BFW **

You're missing the last digit from the model number. It could be from 1 to 8. Did you get it right off the appliance's model and serial number tag?

I'm afraid I do not know what you're describing. You can see the hinge used on the -1 model at the following link. Maybe you can compare it to yours?

- TGF657BFW1 LH Hinge

- TGF657BFW1 RH Hinge

Not likely. The springs only control tension on the hinge when opening and closing. If the door isn't sitting high enough, it would have to be because of a problem in the hinge, how the hinge is attached to the range or the part of the door that rests on the hinge.
