Replacing the part is easy. Wait until you have the replacement part and just hook everything up the same way.
Unscrew the plastic housing around the light/thermostat dial housing in the upper right corner of the refrigerator. Pull off the dial carefully. The thermostat line is just snaked around the back wall of the fridge. There is a small plate at the bottom back of the fridge that holds the end of the thermostat line. You can try to remove the line from the plate without unscrewing but I just unscrewed it and slid it off.
The only problem I had is that the new part is not identical to the old. The connector for the yellow wire isn't there anymore. I just hooked up the grey and green wires the same and put the yellow on the only remaining connector (which is in the location of an old connector that was unused and covered on the old part. this is what made me uneasy.).
I've had the fridge set on 3 since last night and its holding steady @ 41 degrees. I put some stuff in there that I don't have to worry about exploding should it freeze. I'm going to let the fridge sit a few more days before I trust it to any beer/soda.

I have the same problem with the contacts of the new thermostat not matching up to the old one. Is your fridge still operating properly after you connected as you described above?

Yes, its working fine several months later. I'm guessing they removed the redundancy of the additional connector and moved it to the unused location.

Replacing a thermostat in most refrigerators is not usually very difficult. You will make it. Good luck.
