I have a Roper Gas dryer model # RGL4434AW0 and it will come on and heat for about 5 to 10 minutes them stop. After it sits for awhile then you can start it again. Any ideas to help me out here??

** After it sits for awhile then you can start it again. **

That is a typical symptom of a motor failure. When the motor heats up it trips its internal overload protector and stops. Once the motor has a chance to cool, the protector resets and allows the motor to run again.

If the motor's air vents are not just clogged with dust and lint, etc, causing it to overheat, the motor may be defective and need to be replaced.

Dan,

Thanks never even thought of the motor OL's kinda stuck on the gas part since I had never worked on a gas dryer. That makes alot of semse thought probably is clogged up.

I've tried to find a manual on how to get into it. The way it was installed the gas line in ran through the wall behind it and I don't have much access. Does anyone know if it's accessible from the front??

** never even thought of the motor OL's ... That makes a lot of sense though probably is clogged up. **

Actually a defective motor is more common but being plugged with lint is a slim possibility.

** Does anyone know if it's accessible from the front?? **

Much service can usually be done from the front although it may have to be a bit away from the wall to lift the top. Although for an electric model, the following link might give you an idea what needs to be done to access internal components.
