I have an Amana side by side fridge model # SXD26VW it quit cooling both sides. So far I have found that the evaporater fan is not spinning, I have replaced it but it still won't spin.. is there another part that will run that fan? I have also had the thermostat checked and it is good.

Help!!!

Is the compressor running?

I don't have a wiring diagram available for your model to look at but on some models the defrost heater and defrost termination thermostat both must be good in order for the evaporator (freezer) fan motor to run. Failure of the defrost thermostat (see the following link) is fairly common on such models.

Yes the compressor is working and after replacing the evaporator fan it ran great for 2 hours and then it shut off again and the fan quit working.. I advanced the defrost timer control module after unplugging it. Waited about 20 min and plugged it back and it ran good again for another 10 min. Would it be the timer control module or the defrost thermostat that needs to be replaced?................Or I guess replace one at a time...

The defrost timer has no direct control over the evaporator fan motor. As long as the compressor is running, the timer cooling circuit should be working and the evaporator (as well as condenser) fan motor should be running.

** Or I guess replace one at a time. **

Normally actual testing is done to determine whether a part is defective or not. Have you tested operation of the defrost termination thermostat to see if it might be suspect?
