I've got a 2 1/2 year old Whirlpool side by side refrigerator and the door handle has come loose and wiggles around. I can't figure out how to get this secured again. I've had several friends look at it and they are puzzled as well. Any ideas on how to fix this loose refrigerator door handle?
Thanks.

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number.
You can find tips for locating the model number identification tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.

Not until you provide its model number so we can look up to see how it was designed.

There appears to be a clip and 2 screws beneath the door handles (see the following link) unfortunately I have never worked on a model using such handles and don't know how they are removed to access the screws beneath to tighten them, sorry.

Maybe someone with some experience with that type of handle will drop by and offer a tip?

I appreciate the diagrams. Now you can see my problem. I've got no idea how to get the handle off or actually on in this case because it is attached but wobbly and can't figure out how to get to the handle screws and brackets. I see them but just can't get to them. Hopefully someone has some first hand experience with this issue and is willing and able to help. Thanks.
I found this reference to new one-piece fridge door handles:
--------
Whirlpool Side-By-Side Refrigerators
LIFT-OFF DOOR HANDLES
New Whirlpool SxS lift-off door handles are planned for production in March, 2003.
The handles will be 1-piece and seamless. To remove the handles, lift and unhook them from the brackets beneath.
