HELP!

My Kenmore oven will not light, it smells like gas and will not ignite but the stovetop burners work.

Could you possibly tell me what is wrong?

** Kenmore [range] model 790.77478790. [it] smells like gas and will not ignite **

What is the oven ignitor doing at that time?

Your range's oven uses a 'hot surface' (ignitor) ignition system. You can read about how they are suppose to function at the following link. It also describes what specific observations are necessary to start to diagnose problems.

If the ignitor IS glowing when the oven it turned on, a problem in either the ignitor or oven gas valve is likely the cause.
