My Kenmore Dishwasher Ultra Wash 1998 Model 66515701891 won't drain. It has been in use infrequently for 6 years. Suddenly, now the water stays in the bottom. I opened it this morning to remove the cleaned dishes and noticed the water in the bottom. I emptied the dishes out, closed the door and turned it on again to see if it would drain. It makes a moaning noise that you would think was a cow in labor. It never did that before. It still did not drain. What could be wrong? Why won't it drain out and I know that noise is not good.

If the sound is coming from the motor, it could be a sign the motor is jammed up, defective or something is in the pump hampering its movement.

Does the motor run during wash?
