My friend's dryer heating coil went out. They got a new one, though I can't figure out how the dryer can come apart in order for me to replace it. Any ideas? I tried the bottom, though that didn't work too well. I figure it may be the top and front panel, but I can't pull it apart.

If they haven't gotten to it yet, how do they know it is needed?? There are lots of things that can cause a dryer to not heat besides just a failed element. See the following link:

- Can anybody tell me the most likely scenarios for lack of heat in an electric dryer?

But anyway, the pages at the following link have some servicing tips for that older Maytag dryer design.

Good luck!
