Does anyone know where i might be able to find a flat top stove that runs off of gas? I want to design a kitchen island with a stove but want a smooth surface all the way across it. the misses likes gas for cooking better, so it has to be this way!

I'm afraid I have never heard of such a thing. Maybe check some of the European manufacturer's web sites?

Maybe an electric induction unit? They cook as fast as gas but have a smooth top surface and are even the most efficient surface element type. (Gas is worse for energy waste than any electric style BTW)
