I have a GE XL44 range (9 yrs old)that is converted to propane. Up to 6 mos. ago it functioned perfectly. Now it will indicate that it is preheated to the selected setting when it is actually up to 100 degrees off (always low), it also has some dificulties igniting the broiler (you have to keep playing with the temperature dial to get it to ignite).

These problems do not occur every time...only occasionally.

Not actually sure what needs to be replace to make it work properly?

** GE XL44 range 9 yrs old **

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number ("XL44" isn't it). We need that information to see how your particular range was designed.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

- Model Number Tag Search

LINK > www.appliance411.com/parts/tagsearch.cgi

** it is actually up to 100 degrees low **

That could be caused by a problem in the thermostat or electronic control (whichever is used on your model) or the electronic control's sensor.

** it also has some difficulties igniting the broiler **

Is the broil ignitor glowing at that time?

You can read how a hot surface (glow ignitor) oven ignition system is suppose to function and what observations and tests are necessary to start diagnosing problems with them at the following link:

** [GE range model] JGBP26WEW1WW. it is actually up to 100 degrees off **

The temperature on that model is regulated by an electronic control. A problem in its mating oven temperature sensor (see the following link) or the control itself could cause it to display incorrect temperature readings.
