I'm not getting water into my dishwasher. Have checked the water valve for continuity, read well. Then checked float switch for same, it's good. Now i'm lost on where to go next. Anybody got an answer for me?

** frigidair 510lcs1 **

I don't know what "510lcs1" is but it doesn't look like a Frigidaire model number, at least not a complete one. We need its complete model number to look up to see what dishwasher design you're dealing with.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

There isn't usually too much else that would prevent filling. Possibilities could include no water getting to the dishwasher (plumbing valve turned off or blockage in the external water supply line), a problem in the control system and the wiring between the control and the valve.

BTW. The water valve's solenoid could test as good but still not be mechanically opening. Someone could try directly connecting it to power to see if it is capable of opening or making sure it is getting power when it should be filling. Power but no operation = defective valve... whether it tests good for continuity or not.

It's a FDB510LCS1 was just trying to shorten and I've already took an old extention cord to the valve it's working. The water supply is on and the hose is not blocked. I have no clue on how to check the controls for proper functions.

That's better.

** took an old extension cord to the valve it's working. The water supply is on and the hose is not blocked. **

That should confirm the valve is operational. If the float switch is definitely functioning and the float is in place, that should just leave the timer and the wiring between it and the valve.

It might be easier to check the wiring between the timer and water valve for continuity. Someone would need to check the machine's wiring diagram to see which wire was the one to the water valve and then test it from each end.

If it was Ok than the timer could be assumed to be the problem since there should be nothing else that would prevent power to the valve.

There are other things (motor, lights, timer advancing, etc.) working on the dishwasher, right?? And the only thing that isn't is the fill?

All the other components are operational as far as I can tell. Don't want to run to long but all seem to be working.

Thanks for all info it was very helpful!Checked for continuity and got it. After looking at the control switch i found that the gear on the right inside corner that is visible was broken,so yes it is my switch. Thanks again.

Good. I just wanted to make sure you weren't just reporting the most notable or first symptom that might have been noticed. Additional symptoms would likely point to different causes.

By "switch" do you mean the timer?
