- Kenmore Gas Dryer Model #97589210 75892 Serial # MF 1817519
** Kenmore Gas Dryer Model # 97589210 **
The complete model number may be 110.97589210 making it a Whirlpool built machine.
** buzzing noise from the left side of the unit when the start button is pressed and will not start up 99% of the time. **
The left hand side toward the base or the top?
If near the base, the sound is quite possibly coming from the motor. If it isn't just jammed up (something caught in the blower fan, etc.) the motor's bearings may be defective requiring the motor to be replaced.

Basically, if the motor is getting power (which could generate a buzzing sound) it should be running unless being hampered in some way.

Thanks for the info. The blower was blocked with a large piece of lint, which when removed enabled the dryer to operate properly.
Glad to hear it. Thanks for the follow up.
BTW. I hope you took the time to *thoroughly* clean the dryer venting *all the way from the dryer to the outdoors*.
Lint building up inside the dryer is frequently caused by poor and/or plugged venting (see the following link) which can be a very real fire hazard! Don't put it off.
