Bvelectrical
Model # FEF336BGWF

The burners and the broiler do not work. Quit on u last night. The clock still works. This was very sudden. I don not know if it is worth mentioning but the surface light below the burners was on non-stop for several days whether the burners were on or not and now it too has gone out. I pulled the oven and everything seems to be ok but obviously I am missing something.

Any suggestions? Money is an issue. So if I can fix this myself it would be great.

** [Frigidaire electric *range*] model FEF336BGWF **

** [surface elements] and the broiler do not work. **

But the lower oven (aka 'bake') element does work??

If instead none of elements on the range work (not bake, broil nor surface), check for proper power to the range. The elements require a full 240 volts to heat while the rest of the range's components operate on only 120. It is possible one leg of the power supply has dropped out.

** I do not know if it is worth mentioning but the surface light below the [elements] was on non-stop for several days whether the burners were on or not **

Is that light to indicate the element(s) is ON or is it to indicate the element is still 'HOT'? The former staying on could be caused by a defective element switch, the latter by a defective element limiter. Neither should have any bearing on the actual functioning of the other elements of the range.

None of the elements were working. The surface light is to indicate a "HOT" surface.

We reset the breaker and now it works just fine.

Thank you very much for your quick reply!

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the follow up.

Than there is likely a problem with the thermal limiter on the element corresponding to which light is staying on. Unfortunately that limiter does not look to be available separately so in order to correct that condition the affected element would likely need to be replaced.
