Does the timer still advance through the cycle as if everything was working?

I replaced the switch thinking that it wasn't connecting and that's why it wouldn't agitate. The switch was horrible and rusty and falling apart, and about non existant to look for from the top of the tub area.

The entire machine stops after it fills with water.

sigh...
