Our Kenmore 62952 Electric Dryer suddenly stopped mid-cycle, sounding as if the timed cycle had ended. I took a few things out that I wanted to hang up anyway, cleaned what little lint there was in the screen, closed the door and pressed start. The start button clicked, but the dryer didn't start. I turned the timer to the end of the cycle, at which time it did the typical double-click and the audible alert even sounded to signal the end of the cycle. When I turned the timer back to 40 minutes and pressed start, again the button clicked but the dryer didn't start. Though 8 years old, it has been running well lately and drying with usual efficiency.

Any ideas?

** Kenmore 62952 Electric Dryer **

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number ("62952" isn't it). If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

** Dryer suddenly stopped mid-cycle **

Are there may signs of power at the dryer (eg. lights, etc.)? If not, have you checked the dryer circuit's fuses/breaker and power at the wall outlet?
