Can't anyone tell me how to troubleshoot "F1" message on the LCD display? Also, which part do I need to consider buying and replacing?

When I pulled the power plug Off from the wall and re-inserted it, the Normal display (Time etc.) shows up. After a minute, the F1 display appears and stays.

Thank you very much!

** Kenmore [range model] 790.75903993 **

There is no listing for that model number at the Sears web site. Can you double check it?

** Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot "F1" message **

An F1 fault code most often indicates a failed electronic control. However, on models where the control keypad is a separate component from the electronic control (I can't tell if that applies to yours without access to a parts list), a keypad failure can also cause it.

On models where the keypad and control are one integral part, an F1 error message can occasionally be caused by a failed oven sensor. How to test it is described at the following link:

There is usually no 'sure fire' way to determine if the control is responsible for an F1 error message. It is just assumed to be responsible if all other possibilities check out Ok.
