Spin Noise - Kenmore Top-load Washer Series 90 Heavy Duty
My Series 90 Kenmore washer, purchased new in 2004, just started making a high-pitched noise when spinning. The faster the spin, the higher the pitch. The cycle completed but I'm concerned about using the washer again.
** Series 90 Kenmore washer **
I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number. If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.
You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

** making a high-pitched noise when spinning. **
It could be something caught between the tubs rubbing or possibly the clutch or brake mechanism. It would need to be looked into to try to pinpoint the source of the sound then go on from there to investigate possibilities.
** I'm concerned about using the washer again. **
Use in such a condition could cause further damage. It should be avoided until it can be looked into.

Thank you, I've scheduled an intervention, I mean an appliance repairman - and he's gonna fix the noisy dishwasher too.
If you get a chance let us know what turns out to be the problem with the washer. It might give others with the same symptom someplace to start looking.
