I bought a new GE Profile washer in 2002 and it's been wonderful However, now my cloths and linens are being ruined. Black marks that are the same pattern as the metal drum inside the washer are all over my cloths when the wash cycle is completed.

A few weeks ago a greasy, steel wool type of material was in with my cloths. I think it came from the rubber seal that is around the door but I'm not sure. That seems to be the only opening on the inside.

If I wash a regular load the black marks are everywhere. If I wash one item at a time it seems to be ok. What should I do????

** What should I do? **

If you can't look into it yourself I suggest you call for service before it gets any worse and/or leads to further damage of the machine.

My frt loading ge profile washer has stopped spinning on the washer cycle leaving my clothing very wet after the cycle stops. It also cuts off and on all during the cycle like it is unlocking and locking what can this be?

We bought all GE appliances for our new home in 2007. So let down by most of the appliances. We decided to ignore the fact the clocks on the oven and micro are wacked to include timers. The dishwasher barely cleans the dishes. We prewash now. But the worst and costliest is the damage our washer is doing to our clothes. No matter how careful we in loading the clothes still manage to get shoved under the glass. Doesn't matter if full or partial load. When the washer spins the friction of the stuck item on the metal burns and eats the clothes. Looks like. Rat got a hold go it. It is destroying expensive uniforms. Now we have to guard the washer while washing. We always smell the burn We have to make sure nothing is in the door when it spins. No relaxing and letting the washer do its job. Again I am so let down. I read that the problem is not fixable. This is costly. I expect more years from such an expensive appliance.
