I bought a new GE Profile washer in 2002 and it's been wonderful However, now my cloths and linens are being ruined. Black marks that are the same pattern as the metal drum inside the washer are all over my cloths when the wash cycle is completed.

A few weeks ago a greasy, steel wool type of material was in with my cloths. I think it came from the rubber seal that is around the door but I'm not sure. That seems to be the only opening on the inside.

If I wash a regular load the black marks are everywhere. If I wash one item at a time it seems to be ok. What should I do????

** What should I do? **

If you can't look into it yourself I suggest you call for service before it gets any worse and/or leads to further damage of the machine.
