Lately our Kenmore series 500 dryer #110.67522600 has been overheating and my wife can smell burning lint. I cleaned the vent to the outside, took the back off the machine and cleaned it also. We believe there is a lint build-up on the inside duct (where the pull-out lint trap is). We blew it our with my shop vac but it didn't help enough. How do you clean out internal lint build up?

There are long handled brushes that are available. You can see one example from Whirlpool (whom made your dryer for Sears) at the following link:

If the dryer really is overheating, maybe its thermostat has failed although poor air flow through the dryer might be a possibility as well.
